Pistoia has a baricentric position and it is the ideal place to stay for those tourists coming from abroad who wish to see the best of Tuscany in a week or two. We have Florence and Chianti on one side, Lucca and Pisa on the other : all the best within an hour drive, almost the same by train. There are other towns which might appear to be in a more central position but....check the roads: Pistoia is served by the highway, where you can travel with no stops at an average of 130 km/hour. Other towns like San Gimignano or Volterra look central in the map , but in the reality they are served by normal roads where your average speed is 60km/hour.
So, where are you going to spend your holidays ? In a quaint hilltop village 30 min far from the nearest access to the highway, or in our Pistoian farm house which is close to all the most important attractions ?

Last Nov we stayed in a great house in Pistoia, just outside Florence. Fabulous location
Florence-15 min.
Pisa/Lucca-30-40 min.
Siena-1hr.
Just about everything in Tuscany actually 1-1/2 hrs.
Really great family-let us pick vegetables from their garden and provided us with lots of info on things to do, directions, restaurants etc.
